Depart from Athens via the National highway for the strategically important Corinth canal (short stop). After the Corinth Canal, you enter the region of Argolis, land of Homer's Golden Mycenae, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Dating back to the second century B.C., Mycenae was one of the major centers of Greek civilization and a military stronghold which dominated much of southern Greece. Visit the archaeological site, home to the kingdom of mythical Agamemnon. You will see the Cyclopean Walls, the Lion's Gate, the Royal Tombs, including Agamemnon's. Clytemnestra's, and the Treasury of Atreus, a magnificent 14th-century B.C. structure.
By your return you may visit the city of Loutraki, which is famous for its thermal baths and for its maritime activities and the ancient city of Thermal, (today's Loutraki), stretches along a magnificent 4km long beach. The temperate climate and the natural environment of Loutraki, its beautiful and crystal clear beaches, the famous mineral and thermal water, make up the image of a unique tourist destination. Today's Loutraki is a lively and vibrant city with a special movement during the summer months, known mainly for its thermal baths, its luxurious casino and its marvelous coasts. Return in Athens.
